These barracks bring back so many memories! They are, both inside and out, just like the one's I stayed in on Ft Leonardwood for Basic and AIT. That was back in the early 80's.

I spent a few years at Ft Bragg and that is just about the speed of the post maintenance people. I'll be there tomorrow to fix it,maybe they will get there in 6 months

Thanks for sharing the pics and the update. I'll be keeping you (and your husband) in my prayers. Now if there was only a way I could get you some Stamey's to Iraq for Christmas... ;-) Godspeed, Pattie!

These are great pictures, Pattie. As stark as they seem, they might be better than the quarters in Iraq. Tommy is living in the military compound in Kabul in Afghanistan and doesn't have any windows in his room. From the way he dresses (flak jacket, rifle, etc.), I forget that he is there as a civilian government employee and not as a soldier. I wish you the very best and hope your year goes by quickly. I hope you continue to send me your journal entries.
    Love,
    Eileen Walker
